ACES: Afterschool Care and Enrichment for Success
ACES, which stands for Afterschool Care and Enrichment for Success, is your afterschool care option at Kimmel Farm Elementary School. ACES aims to enrich students’ afterschooltime by providing a problem-based learning (PBL) curriculum that develops critical thinking skills. This is accomplished by utilizing certified classroom teachers to deliver the PBL instruction. Students work together in collaborative groups to solve real-life problems aligned with the curriculum they already are learning about during the school day. This improves student performance by enriching outside of the classroom time.
Why choose ACES?
Certified classroom teachers will be providing enrichment that is aligned with the standard course of study. Students will have organized stations after
enrichment time each day where they can express themselves through art, physical activity and many other areas. By increasing your child’s instructional time, you position your child for increased academic success!
Program Teachers
During PBL instructional time, Kimmel Farm Elementary teachers who have completed special training in problem-based learning will work with your child.
Program Assistants
Undergraduate students from local universities will assist teachers and provide supervision and activities for your child.
Program Coordinator
Kristen Turner, a former fourth-grade teacher at Kimmel Farm Elementary, will be the on-site program coordinator for ACES.
