Multi-modal Learning

Hands-on learning facilitates the understanding of complex anesthesia concepts. Our curriculum is delivered through the combined use of lecture, small group discussions, simulation, and simulated patient actor experiences. Research

Dr. Cliff Gonzales facilitates discussion during the Clinical Research Course. 

Classroom

Students discuss and demonstrate breathing circuit modifications during class time. 

Health Assessment

Dr. Courtney Brown and Dr. Cliff Gonzales demonstrate a complete patient assessment during a pre-operative evaluation for the first-year students. 

Small groups

Student's lead discussions during small group sessions to refine understanding of anesthesia delivery. 

Paul Packard

 Dr. Paul Packard demonstrates regional anesthesia techniques in the cadaver lab. 

SPA 2

First-year students conduct pre-anesthetic assessments and work with faculty members to formulate an anesthetic plan during the Simulated Patient Actor Events.
