Kristin Henderson, CRNA, MSN, Educational Innovator
Kristin graduated with her nursing degree from Liberty
University in 2005, and she is currently studying toward her DNAP degree. Before entering the field of nurse anesthesia, she worked as a CCRN-CSC in cardiothoracic intensive care. A graduate of the nurse anesthesia
program at Wake Forest, she spent 6 years in the Brenner Children’s Hospital as a pediatric anesthesia specialist. She has also maintained experience with adult anesthesia by working at Wake Forest's Davie Hospital. She has served as
a didactic instructor, clinical instructor, instructor in the H3A program, and member of the admissions committee. She is one of our primary simulation instructors, which builds upon her capstone research into the use
of multi-disciplinary simulation as an educational modality. Kristin is one of only two CRNAs credentialed as an instructor for Wake Wings, the institution's perioperative patient safety program. In support of the profession, Kristin served as a member of the NBCRNA standard-setting committee, which determines the pass-point of the national certification examination.
As Educational Innovator, Kristin provides didactic and
clinical instruction, while supporting the continual improvement and
implementation of educational techniques in the program. She plays a lead role in development and deployment of educational programs, such as H3A.
