Gallery Spaces

Pastel Artwork

There are 10 galleries throughout the Medical Center where visual art is displayed to provide visual stimulation for patients, visitors and employees. Contact information for individual artists is available upon request or in each gallery. Exhibits are displayed for 3 months and are coordinated through the Arts for Health program's Art Curator, Barbara Cullen.

Commons Gallery

Located in the Medical School Lobby, Ground Floor

Gail Roberts of Winston-Salem displays colorful acrylic paintings including flowers, and explores complex design and color issues.

Family Medicine Gallery

Located in Piedmont Plaza I, Third Floor

3rd floor Piedmont Plaza: Patrice Rucker of Winston-Salem displays acrylic paintings of fields, gardens, a golf course, and other landscapes.

Reynolds Gallery

Jackie Ooi of Winston-Salem exhibits ceramic pieces including birds, bottles, plates,  cream and sugar bowls, jugs, teapots, pots, and vases.

Sticht Gallery

Located on the Ground Floor

  • Gallery 1: Barbara Mellin of Winston-Salem displays print based collages entitled Freewheelin'
  • Gallery 2: Gail Roberts of Winston-Salem displays large and colorful abstract acrylic paintings.

Spine Gallery

Located on the Ground Floor

Watercolor Society of North Carolina, Central Region (Director Chris Sutherland) displays a variety of works in transparent watercolor and gouache.

Surgical Services

Located in Ardmore Tower, First Floor

Teri Emmi of Kernersville displays an oil painting of a mountain stream.

Watlington Gallery

Located on the First Floor

Teri Emmi of Kernersville displays oil paintings of Italian landscapes and local scenery.

Executive Suite Gallery

Located in Janeway Tower, Tenth Floor

  • Audrey Lynge of Winston-Salem displays mixed media, drawings and colored pencil works all centering around New York City street scenes.
  • Teri Emmi of Kernersville displays Italian scenery done in oil.
  • Susan Lauteman of Winston-Salem exhibits large oil still life paintings as well as scenery.
  • Joan Evans of Winston-Salem exhibits photography including skies, clouds, trees and landscapes with atmospheric  qualities.

Brenner Children's Hospital

Located on the Ninth Floor

Arts for Life gallery featuring the children of Brenner's artwork.    

Davie Medical Center

Joyce Metters displays oil paintings on linen and canvas of still life, landscapes, and flowers.


Charles Hildebrandt of Winston-Salem displays large collage structure pieces done with metal, paint, photographs, and wood.
