A Study of Benign Vascular Tumors (Hemagiomas)

What we are studying

Hemangiomas are generally benign vascular malformations that usually develop in infants soon after birth. This study is designed to analyize hemangioma tissue to learn more about how the tumor develops. The goal is to establish an animal model to study hemaniomas (these do not naturally occur in animals). The hemangioma that will be surgically removed, analyized, and implanted into mice for futher analysis.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Pediatric patients with hemangioma that are scheduled to be surgically removed.

What is involved

  • Donation of hemangioma tissue that has been surgically removed for usual care
  • No additional tissue will be removed for study purposes.
