Pulmonary Congestion and Vascular Stiffness

What we are studying

The purpose of this research study is to see if Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) can be used to predict why some patients with diabetes, hypertension (high blood pressure), or prior coronary artery disease develop pulmonary congestion (water build up in the lungs) leading to hospitalization.

    • American Indian or Alaska Native
    • Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander
    • Other
  • All Ethnicities
  • Ages 55 - 85

Eligibility Criteria

  • Hypertension
  • Diabetes
  • Prior coronary disease

What is involved

  • 1 visit for 1.5 to 3 hours
  • Phone or email contact every 3-4 months for 2-5 years
