Hormones Changes in Childhood Sarcoma Patients

What we are studying

This research study is being done to observe how the levels of certain hormones in the blood of children with sarcoma change over time.

  • Men and Women
  • Races:
    • White
    • African American
    • Asian
    • American Indian or Alaska Native
    • Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander
    • Other
  • All Ethnicities
  • All Ages up to 21

Eligibility Criteria

  • Diagnosed malignant neoplasms of the bone or malignant neoplasms of the connective tissue
  • Newly diagnosed patients must enroll prior to the onset of chemotherapy
  • Relapsed patients may enroll prior to onset of any therapy for their relapsed disease
  • Age 21 or younger at initial diagnosis of cancer

What is involved

  • Participants will be in the study up to 90 days following completion of treatment
  • 2 blood samples (one before and after treatment for sarcoma)
