Yoga and Brain Cancer

What we are studying

The purpose of this research study is to understand how gentle yoga may be useful to patients undergoing treatment for brain cancer. We want to learn about the effects of a gentle yoga on you and your condition. Yoga may be a way to reduce stress and therefore may improve quality of life in brain cancer patients.

Who we are studying

  • Men and Women
  • Races:
    • White
    • African American
    • Asian
    • American Indian or Alaska Native
    • Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander
    • Other
  • All Ethnicities
  • Ages 18+

Eligibility Criteria

  • Diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor
  • Not regularly practicing yoga within the past 4 weeks

What is involved

  • Participating in a 75-minute gentle yoga class 2 times per week over the course of 6 weeks at the Outpatient Comprehensive Cancer Center
  • Practice yoga 3 times a week for 6 weeks using a yoga DVD
