Fat Absorption and Hormone Levels in Patients Undergoing Weight Loss Surgery

What we are studying

For those undergoing weight loss surgery: Roux-en-y gastric bypass surgery (RYGB) and Sleeve Gastrectomy are very effective in treating obesity, but the exact way they work so well is not well understood. The purpose of this research study is to learn how these surgeries affect fat absorption, blood sugar processing, and gut hormone levels to help us learn better ways to treat obesity.
