Reducing Blood Pressure in the Treatment of a Hemorrhage Stroke

What we are studying

This study is using an FDA approved drug that is routinely used in the treatment of patients with ICH. The study drug reduces high blood pressure and is used on a short term basis in situations where it is neither possible nor desirable for pills to be taken by mouth. Reducing blood pressure in the early stages of a hemorrhagic stroke is thought to limit the amount of brain damage that occurs. Less brain damage may reduce the high levels of death and disability commonly found in this form of stroke.
