Study Looking at Factors in Patients with Interstitial Cystitis

What we are studying

The purpose of this research study is to gather information from the genes of patients with interstitial cystitis and compare those genes to patients that do not have interstitial cystitis. We would like to see if there is a link between an interstitial cystitis patient’s genes and findings we see on biopsies taken during cystoscopic evaluation.

    • Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander

  • All Ethnicities
  • Ages 18 - 80

Eligibility Criteria

  • Female with established interstitial cystitis or being evaluated for gross or microscopic hematuria or other lower UTI symptoms

What is involved

  • Cytoscopy test to look at bladder
  • Blood and tissue samples taken from bladder
