Study for Patients with Diabetic Neuropathy or Neuropathic Back Pain

What we are studying

The purpose of this research study is to test whether Donepezil (used for treatment of Alzheimer’s disease) will have any effect (good or bad) on your current pain. Donepezil is an FDA approved drug. Donepezil is considered to be investigational in this study. What we learn in this study may lead to future research studies to try to find effective combinations of medicine therapy for pain management. In this study Donepezil will be compared to placebo (placebo contains no active medication).

Eligibility Criteria

• Diagnosed with diabetic neuropathy or subjects that have had back surgery and continue to have chronic lower back pain

What is involved

• Study involvement lasts 10 weeks and includes 4 study visits

Compensation:

Participants will receive $150.00 for completing all scheduled study visits.
