Improving Exercise Intolerance

What we are studying

Exercise intolerance is the decreased ability to exercise because of shortness of breath and fatigue during exertion. The purpose of this research study is to study the effect of beetroot juice, a commercially available beverage, on exercise performance. The goal is to determine the potential for doing a larger study. Beetroot juice is naturally high in nitrates, which increases dilation of the blood vessels, potentially increasing the amount of blood flow to the working muscles during exercise.
