MEAL-2 (Macronutrient Effects on Alzheimer's Disease)

What we are studying

The purpose of this research study is to find out how adults with normal and abnormal insulin sensitivity and blood pressure respond to different diets. We will look at diets that are either high or low in saturated fats, glycemic index and salt. We are studying how these two types of diets can affect memory, blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol.

  • All Ethnicities
  • Ages 45 - 65

Eligibility Criteria

  • Not taking medications for diabetes; cholesterol or blood pressure
  • Post-Menopausal for at least 1 year (women only)

What is involved

  • 10 clinic visits


Participants will be paid up to $340 for completing all scheduled study visits.
