Observational Study of Cohort of Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s Disease Patients Undergoing Surgery

What we are studying

The purpose of this study is to identify risk factors for the development of post-operative infections in patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) undergoing abdominal surgery. In particular, this study aims to determine if pre-operative use of immunosuppressive IBD medications such as anti-Tumor Necrosis Factor agents puts patients at risk for infection.
