Study Looking for Hair Loss in Men Age 18-49

What we are studying

This is a study to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of Bimatoprost Solution compared to placebo (no active medicine) in men 18 to 49 years old with male pattern baldness which includes thinning of hair on the crown of the head. Participation will last for 8 months including 6 months of treatment and a 2 month follow-up.

  • Not Hispanic or Latino
  • Ages 18 - 49

Eligibility Criteria

  • Mild to moderate hair loss on the crown or top of the head ongoing for at least 1 year
  • Balding over the entire head will not qualify
  • Willing to maintain hair length of at least 3/4 inch in non balding area with same hair style and hair color throughout the study
  • Willingness to have a small tattoo placed on the scalp about the size of a period (.)
  • Must have a negative urine drug screen

What is involved

  • 6 visits to the study center
  • 1 telephone follow-up
  • Electrocardiogram (ECG)
  • Blood draws
  • Questionnaires
