Specimen Collection for the Assessment of Troponin Assays

What we are studying

Patients presenting to the Emergency Department with symptoms concerning for Acute Coronary Syndrome are eligible for participation. Those enrolled in this study will be asked to provide blood samples at five different time points. These samples will be used to determine the accuracy and performance of Siemen's Troponin diagnostic devices. Participants will also be asked to come back for a follow-up visit, including a physical exam and electrocardiogram (EKG).

  • Ages 22 - 110

Eligibility Criteria

  • Symptoms consistent with Acute Coronary Syndrome

What is involved

  • 5 blood draws
  • 3 follow up phone calls
  • 1 in-person follow-up visit to the CRU
