Texting for Adherence

What we are studying

The purpose of this research study is to see if receiving text messages by phone will help you take your medicines. Taking medicines is one part of how people stay in medical care and we want to see how we can help people do that.

Who we are studying

  • Men and Women
  • Races:
    • White
    • African American
    • Asian
    • American Indian or Alaska Native
    • Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander
    • Other
  • All Ethnicities
  • Ages 24+

Eligibility Criteria

  • HIV positive
  • Has a mobile phone that is capable of receiving text messages and is willing to use it for the study to receive text messages
  • You plan to remain in care at the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Infectious Disease Clinic for at least 6 months

What is involved

  • Questionnaires
  • Receive text messages
