Study of tissue from bladder biopsy to determine the best treatment

What we are studying

The primary focus of this study is to see if looking at tumor biomarkers using a program called “coexpression extrapolation or COXEN” may predict study participants response to chemotherapy before surgery.

  • Ages 18 - 80

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bladder cancer that has spread to the muscle

What is involved

  • Study participants will be randomized to receive chemotherapy based on what tests that are done to their tumor tissue show. Subjects will receive either gemcitabine
  • Cisplatin and possibly filgrastim/pegfilgrastim or methotrexate
  • Vinblastine
  • Doxorubicin
  • Cisplatin and filgrastim/pegfilgrastim.
