Trial to compare best endovascular versus best surgical therpay in patients with Critical Limb Ischemia

What we are studying

This trial is for patients with PAD (peripheral artery disease, Critical Limb Ischemia, with non healing wounds who are candidates for endovascular or surgical revascularization to improve blood flow within their legs. The trial will evaluate the effectiveness of the best endovascular compared to the best surgical revascularization.

  • Not Hispanic or Latino
  • Ages 35+

Eligibility Criteria

  • Atherosclerotic PAD(occlusive disease of the arteries in the legs)
  • Non-Healing wounds
  • Rest pain.

What is involved

  • Patients must be a candidate for endovascular or surgical revascularization and will be randomized (flipping of a coin) to determine treatment. They will then be followed up with for 48 month.
