What we are studying

This research study will look at the effect of two anti-inflammatory drugs on physical function in older adults. This study will see if two study drugs (fish oil and Losartan, a commonly used blood pressure medicine) affect your ability to walk.

    • Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander
    • Other
  • Not Hispanic or Latino
  • Ages 70+

Eligibility Criteria

  • Have some difficulty walking 1/4 mile or climbing a flight of stairs

What is involved

  • Blood draws
  • Questionnaires
  • Physical function tests
  • Study medication


You will not be paid for completing Screening Visit 1 and Screening Visit 2. You will receive a check for $25 for the baseline visit and the 3, 6, 9, and 12 month follow-up visits for a total of up to $125.
