About Our Logo
The new symbol evokes DNA and the letter “W” to convey our goal to be a preeminent, internationally recognized academic medical center of the highest quality–a “discovery engine”–that will be known worldwide for its care as much as its cure. The symbol includes three black strands that serve two functions: to represent balanced excellence in research, education and patient care, and to mirror the letter “W” of Wake Forest.
The black and gold colors are identical to the black and gold of the Wake Forest University logo. This approach emphasizes the close relationship with the university, leverages the equity in these long-established colors, and distinguishes us from competitors locally, regionally and nationally.
Only the logos shown on this page are approved. Individual centers and departments do not have their own logo, nor can their names simply be added to the logos shown here. Our approved logos are trademarked or registered and cannot be altered.
