Inserting Pictures and Logos into PowerPoint or Word
Picture File Formats
Many different picture and graphics file formats can be inserted into Microsoft PowerPoint or Word. The most common is JPG but you can also insert TIF, BMP, PNG, GIF, EMF, WMF, EPS, and more. To insert these files into PowerPoint or Word follow the instructions below. While these instructions are for PowerPoint or Word, the procedure is nearly identical for most Microsoft programs.
Making Your Pictures Accessible to PowerPoint or Word
Before you can insert the picture files, they need to be accessible by your computer. Therefore, the files should be stored on your computer's hard drive, USB drive, or network file server. If you received the files via email, be sure to save them to your computer's desktop first so that you can access them from PowerPoint or Word.
Do NOT open the file and then try to cut and paste it into your Word document or PowerPoint slide. Instead, please follow the instructions below.
Inserting Your Pictures
If you are using Microsoft Office 2003, go to the Insert menu and select "Picture > From File".

If you are using Microsoft Office 2007 or greater, click on the Insert tab at the top and then click on the “Picture” button. The Insert Picture dialog box will now appear.

Use this dialog box to navigate to where your picture files are stored. Once you have navigated to the folder containing your picture files, they will be listed in the window below. Select the picture file you want to insert by clicking on it once and then click on the "Insert" button. The picture will now appear in your in your PowerPoint slide or Word document.
Resizing a Picture or Logo
When using Word or PowerPoint, be sure to hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and then click and drag on the corner points of the picture box to resize the logo. This will keep the proportions of the logo accurate.
Low resolution images will become fuzzy or pixelated if enlarged. Be sure to download high resolution logos from the Brand Center.
