Timothy D. Howard, PhD
Associate Professor, Department of Pediatrics, Center for Human Genomics
Howard studies the genetics of complex diseases, ranging from asthma and allergy to diabetes and cardiovascular disease. These projects have utilized state-of-the-art technologies to identify genes that contribute to the susceptibility or the variability of disease, with a focus on genetic sequence variation. In collaboration with Arcury and Quandt, Howard has recently become involved with the genetic determinants of an individual’s ability to metabolize pesticides. These analyses include both DNA sequence variation and epigenetic changes.
