Financial Assistance
The Department of Church and Community Relations seeks to provide financial assistance through four different means:
DISCRETIONARY FUND
This fund is a budgeted item in the Department and receives additional support from the gifts of individuals, churches, civic groups, and employee parking fines. The fund provides assistance (under $10) to patients and families for prescriptions, meals, transportation and parking.
WOOD RICHMOND FUND
This fund is part of the Baptist Benevolent Fund and helps financially distressed patients pay small balances (usually under $1,000) for outpatient tests and procedures. Patients are financially screened by Patient Financial Resources to determine needs.
CHURCH AND COMMUNITY RELATIONS FUND
This fund helps pay for an initial OPD clinic appointment for patients who do not have the monies to see a physician.
