Jose Lopez, MD

Dr. Lopez is Board Certified in Family Practice and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, national and state chapters. He has special interest in primary care, preventive medicine and geriatric medicine.

He did his undergraduate studies at the University of Puerto Rico and received his medical degree from the University of Seville in Spain.  He completed his residency at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus in 1978.  He joined the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service and was Chief Medical Officer of a clinic in Memphis, Tennessee.  He has held academic positions at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, University of Florida and Florida Hospital Family Practice Program in Orlando.

He is married with two grown children and enjoys fine dining, theater and the arts.  He is fluent in English and Spanish.  He looks forward to serving the health care needs of our Hispanic community.



David Dixon, MD

After graduating from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Literature, Dr. Dixon attended UNC - Chapel Hill School of Medicine and completed his residency in family practice at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. His professional interests include preventive medicine, sports medicine and pediatric and adolescent care.

He is fluent in Spanish and looks forward to serving the health care of the Latino community.

Dr. Dixon chose family medicine so he would be able to develop relationships and care for all members of the family throughout all stages of their life.  He believes that healing should take into consideration all aspects of a person's life - the spiritual, mental, and physical. He is a board  certified family practitioner

Outside of the office, Dr. Dixon enjoys playing the guitar, reading, bicycle riding, listening to music and spending time with his wife and two sons. He is the team physician for the Mount Airy Bears, 2008 State Champions in football.

Lisa Petri, MD

Dr. Petri is  a board certified family practitioner who comes to Community Physicians with several years experience in primary care. After earning a bachelor's degree, majoring in Biology and Sociology, from the University of Richmond she attended Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. She completed her family practice residency at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia.

Dr. Petri believes disease prevention is an integral part of patient care. She strives to educate her patients in so that they may live a healthy, quality life. She believes that a combination of patient education and a good doctor-patient relationship is necessary to achieve the best results. Her professional interests include women’s health, pediatrics and nutrition.

Dr. Petri is married and has two daughters. When not in the office she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, hiking, biking, and reading.



Stephanie Baginski, MD

After graduating from the University of Illinois with a bachelor's degree in Cell and Structural Biology, Dr. Baginski attended medical school at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Cincinnati, Ohio. She completed her residency in family medicine at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System in Spartanburg, SC. She is board certified in family Medicine.

Dr. Baginski takes pride in her patients' wellness through prescribing effective treatments and offering preventative counseling. She strives to educate and inspire her patients to live healthier lives, and has a particular interest in women's health, dermatology and wound care.

Outside of the office she enjoys traveling, interior design and gardening. Dr. Baginski is married and has two daughters.
