PALS Information

All PALS courses must be taught according to the 2006 guidelines effective immediately.

 PALS Tests – October 2007

The Training Center has the new PALS Provider course exams. When you are ready to start coordinating a class by the new guidelines please e-mail your request for the exams to Daphne Lopez (daplopez@wakehealth.edu). She will reply with an attachment that contains the new exams.

There is no longer a pre-test for PALS courses, but there is a Pre-Course Self-Assessment and a Pre-Course Preparation Checklist on the CD-ROM enclosed in the student manual. The Training Center has these on file and a FAQ sheet that can be delivered in paper form or electronically if the student is unable to access it. The pre-course self-assessment is best used from the CD-ROM. The paper version is long and cumbersome---another reason for students to have their own manual.

PALS Evaluation Reminder

Remember students taking PALS Provider or Refresher must be evaluated in 2 stations (respiratory or shock and cardiac) as well as completing the written test successfully.
