NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center
We are proud to be among the elite group of cancer centers acknowledged as the nation’s leaders in the fight against cancer. The National Cancer Institute’s comprehensive designation is rare; only 4 cancer centers in United States can claim this accreditation.
Breast Cancer Accreditation
Our Breast Care Center, the first center in the region to be granted full accreditation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), was recently reaccredited. Radiation Oncology ACR Accreditation
The Radiation Oncology Department has been awarded a three-year accreditation (through 2016) by the American College of Radiology (ACR), the nation's oldest and most widely-accepted radiation oncology accrediting body. It is awarded only to facilities meeting specific guidelines and standards developed by ACR after a peer-review evaluation by board-certified radiation oncologists and medical physicists who are experts in the field.
Blue Distinction Center for Complex and Rare Cancers℠
The Comprehensive Cancer Center was named a Blue Distinction Center for Complex and Rare Cancers℠ by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association (BCBSA). We are the only cancer center in the Triad, and one of only 5 in the state, awarded this designation. These centers offer comprehensive inpatient cancer care programs for adults, delivered by multidisciplinary teams with subspecialty training and distinguished clinical expertise in treating complex and rare subtypes of cancer.
Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT)
Blood and Marrow Transplant Program accredited by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT). FACT accredits only programs that have demonstrated exceptional levels of patient care and outstanding medical and laboratory practices.
World’s First Leksell® Center of Radiosurgery
Radiation Oncology Department named the world’s first Leksell® Center of Radiosurgery. It is an international training site for teaching procedures and protocols for stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT).
