Appearance Boutique

Dealing with cancer is demanding physically and emotionally. To help patients feel and look their best during this challenging time, the Comprehensive Cancer Center offers the special services of the Appearance Boutique, operated in partnership with Dignity Products, Inc.

The Appearance Boutique is a place of welcome, compassion and expert consultation on a variety of products designed to enhance appearance and confidence, and provide comfort for those undergoing cancer treatments or breast surgeries.

Look Your Best during Treatment

We’re proud to offer products that are fashionable, as well as functional. We’ll help you look your best with a great selection of hats, scarves and affordable jewelry, and we’ll show you how to wear them with style. 

• Bras – pretty and fashionable; provide comfort, shape and support for patients who have had mastectomy or other breast surgery 
• Silicone breast forms – a wide range of shapes and sizes for weighted balance and shape, attachable or non-attachable
• Non-silicone prostheses – lightweight forms that enhance shape
• Partials – forms that fill in asymmetry left by certain kinds of breast surgeries
• Camisole – an invaluable post-surgical garment that accommodates drains and provides soft and comfortable shape; essential for radiation treatment

Our experienced staff members are certified fitters who will help you choose what’s right for you from a wide variety of breast prostheses and undergarments. We also carry bathing suits year-round, specially designed for your needs.

Apearance Consultation 

Turbans and hats, located in the CPSP Resource Room, are offered free of charge to patients receiving chemotherapy.  Please see the volunteer on duty or call Sheila Lee, CPSP administrative secretary, at 336-716-7980 and she will call someone to help.

Before Surgery

We encourage patients to visit the Appearance Boutique before their scheduled breast surgery or cancer treatment. Many women are reassured to see the choices in breast prostheses available and the garments on hand for their surgical recovery. There is never a charge for consultation with our staff.

We can also help determine your insurance benefits and guidelines during consultation. Most private insurers, as well as Medicare, provide coverage for breast prostheses and post-surgical undergarments. The staff at the Appearance Boutique can file your insurance and track your expenditures for physician-ordered products so that you don’t exceed your coverage.
