Comprehensive Cancer Center Expansion
Coming Soon!
Construction is underway on a six-story addition to our Comprehensive Cancer Center, which will bring both inpatient and outpatient services into a single location.
When completed in late 2013, the $125 million expansion will add one day hospital and four inpatient floors to our outpatient cancer center, making it the largest dedicated cancer hospital in the state.
It will increase the number of inpatient beds to 148 acute care and 44 observation beds. All rooms will be private, make use of natural light and be designed to accommodate families. The cancer hospital will include a total of 530,600 square feet and will feature a courtyard nestled in the center of the upper floors – offering patients and families a peaceful environment to spend time together.

“We truly will be a comprehensive cancer hospital, and offering both inpatient and outpatient services in a single facility will improve patient access, convenience and satisfaction,” said John McConnell, MD, chief executive officer. “Our mission is to care and to cure. When it comes to cancer treatment, this expansion enables the medical center to take an outstanding program and put it under one roof which will only enhance the overall patient experience.”
