Chemotherapy to Treat Head and Neck Cancers
Chemotherapy is the use of medications to target and kill cancer cells, as well as prevent their spread. If you are receiving treatment at the Comprehensive Cancer Center, your medical oncologist only treats patients with head and neck cancers. The advantage of this type of specialization is that your doctor is an expert in treating these types of cancers, and leads research on how to better treat head and neck cancers using chemotherapy.

Head and Neck Chemotherapy Clinical Trials
Another advantage to treatment at Wake Forest Baptist is that our Comprehensive Cancer Center participates and even leads advanced clinical trials in the treatment of head and neck cancers. Your doctor will educate you about your potential participation, but of course, the ultimate decision is your own.
