Our Team of Surgical Oncologists
The Surgical Oncology team at Wake Forest consists of expert surgeons and oncology nurses. This expertise is linked to training future leaders in cancer care. As a teaching hospital, medical students, residents and surgical oncology fellows (qualified surgeons studying specialized techniques) assist in patient care.
A critical part of our program is the multidisciplinary approach our cancer experts take when evaluating a patient. This means that different cancer experts will examine you and recommend the best possible combination of treatment approaches.
Supportive Services for Cancer Patients at Wake Forest
We also offer patient and family support. Social workers, members of the clergy, physical, occupational, respiratory and massage therapists, nutritionists and other professionals work to ease both cancer treatment and survivorship.
