Surgical Specialties
All of our surgical oncologists are board certified surgeons. Each has completed additional training in specialized surgical techniques that align with their specialty, i.e. the kind of cancer they treat. Each surgical oncologist performs the same procedures many times, becoming an expert in those particular surgeries.
Advanced Cancer Surgery at Wake Forest
A multidisciplinary team of different cancer specialists, including a surgical oncologist, treats each type of cancer. You may have the opportunity to participate in clinical trials as part of your treatment plan, which is an important aspect of our program. However, we always insist that participation is always the patients’ choice.
