About Dermatology

The Department of Dermatology at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center provides the highest caliber, compassionate care for patients, excellent training for future practitioners of dermatology and a productive setting for basic and applied research on diseases of the skin.

The General Medical Dermatology Clinic of North Carolina Baptist Hospital is devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the skin, hair, nails and mucous membranes. Special areas of clinical and research focus are psoriasis, itch, diseases of the hair, pediatric dermatology, dermatopathology and cosmetic dermatology.

The Pediatric Dermatology Program is conducted by the Department of Dermatology in cooperation with the Department of Pediatrics.

The Dermatologic and Cutaneous Surgery Unit (Mohs surgery) is devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of complex and advanced skin cancer.

The Psoriasis and Skin Treatment Center provides a broad array of treatment options for patients suffering from psoriasis.

The Dermatopathology Unit uses various techniques to provide expert tissue analysis and diagnosis of skin lesions.

The Cosmetic Dermatology Center offers cosmetic services and products for our clients.

The Hair Disorders Program serves patients of all ages who have hair loss or abnormal hair growth.

The Clinical Studies Center conducts a range of clinical trials of pharmaceutical agents developed for skin disorders.
