Procedures for Disposal of Batteries

  • Batteries should be collected in a closed plastic bag or container labeled "Universal Waste— Batteries."
  • Battery buckets are available, free of charge, from  Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S). Contact them at 716-9375.
  • For disposal on Bowman Gray campus, bring batteries to E-floor Commons Building Tuesdays and Fridays, 10 am to noon. Waste room is off of shipping and receiving area.
  • For disposal from other buildings and outlying campuses, call EH&S (716-9375)  for pick-up.  Please allow a 2-3 day notice.
