Otology / Neurotology
Wake Forest Baptist Health ENT/Head and Neck Surgery specializes in otology and lateral skull base surgery, or the diagnosis and surgical management of diseases of the ear and its related structures, including complex tumors of the base of the skull.
Our board certified otologists treat a wide range of otology conditions, including hearing loss, cholesteatoma (skin cyst in the middle ear or skull base), congenital ear malformations, vertigo that is caused by inner ear disorders, acoustic neuroma and other base of the skull tumors. Skull base surgery is often a collaborative effort between our physicians and specialists in neurosurgery, neuroradiology and radiation oncology.
We also have extensive experience with cochlear implant surgery in both children and adults.
