Our team of physicians delivers the highest quality medical care to large numbers of patients with diabetes mellitus, PCOS, disorders of lipoprotein metabolism, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, hypothalamic and pituitary disease, adrenal disease, abnormalities in calcium regulation, and gonadal dysfunction.

 Clinic Visits

The Endocrinology Clinics, services of NC Baptist Hospital, are located at 4610 Country Club Rd, Winston-Salem, NC.  The Joslin Diabetes Center Affiliate at Wake Forest Baptist Health is also located at this address. It is the only Joslin/Harvard affiliate in the southeast.

K. Patrick Ober, MD currently sees patients on the 7th floor of the Janeway Clinical Sciences Tower and at the Joslin Diabetes Center on Country Club Rd.

Please note that the Endocrinology clinics do not provide primary care services. 

Scheduling Appointments

Patients who would like to be seen in our clinic can either self-refer or ask their Primary Care physician to request a referral. New patients can call 336-716-WAKE (9253) or their physician can request an appointment at 336-713-7251.

If you are already an established patient in our clinics, please call 336-713-7251 to schedule an appointment if you need to be seen prior to your regularly scheduled appointment.


If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment, please call 336-713-7251 no later than 2 business days prior to your appointment to reschedule, so we may use this time for another patient.

Prescription Refills

For prescription refills, please have the pharmacy fax the refill request to 336-713-0306.  

Requests are taken during office hours Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Please note the following restrictions regarding prescription

       We do not refill prescriptions prescribed by other physicians;
If you haven't been seen by our physicians within the last year,
you must schedule a follow-up visit prior to prescription
refill.  We want to make sure that the medication is properly
dosed and that your health hasn't changed. 


If you want to leave a message for your physician, please call
336-713-7251 during normal business hours.  You will be asked
for your phone number and the best time for staff to call
back.  Staff will return your call within 48 hours.

After Hours Calls

If you have an urgent medical problem and it cannot wait to talk
with your doctor during regular business hours, call
336-713-7251.  The on-call doctor for Endocrinology will
return your call.


If you are having an Endocrinology emergency, go directly to the
Wake Forest Baptist Health Emergency Department or your nearest
emergency room. Upon your arrival, notify the staff that you are a
patient in the Endocrinology Clinic and give your endocrinologist's
