Engineering includes a group of Customer Service personnel who are the point of contact for all calls from customers, whether you have problems with plumbing, lighting or heating. Each month, the maintenance staff completes approximately 7,500 work requests. This includes corrective and preventive maintenance issues that are scheduled to keep equipment and systems running smoothly and reliably. It is our goal to respond to all calls regarding patient rooms within 30 minutes, no matter the time of day or night.

Controls Technicians and Power Plant Operators continuously monitor the equipment to ensure that all systems are at peak performance throughout each building. Power Plant Operators also maintain emergency generators that supply the facility with electrical service in the event of a Duke Power Company system failure.

EngineeringThe Grounds Team of Engineering is responsible for the maintenance and beautification of the hospital grounds. Their duties include everything from planting the flowers that enhance our entrances to mowing the lawns and trimming trees.
