Office on Country Club Road Offers Convenience, Name-Brand Eyewear
The opening of the Country Club location of Wake Forest Baptist Health Optical Designs brought a new element to an already thriving retail business-top fashion lines in eyewear.
John Newsome, manager of Optical Designs, says the biggest difference between the new location and the three existing Optical Designs sites (Coliseum Drive, Janeway Tower at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and Mount Airy) is obvious.
"What we have here is convenience,'' he says.
The sparkling new office on Country Club Road is part of a series of services under a new roof operated by the Medical Center, including a Joslin Diabetes Center.
Optical Designs will offer eye examinations, all kinds of fashion eyewear (including several new lines not previously available) and the services of optometrist Lisa Traunero, along with access to the expertise at Wake Forest Baptist Health.
At the Janeway Tower location, the Eye Center team offers in-depth examinations and treatments for a full range of vision issues, including LASIK surgery, cataract surgery, corneal transplants and more.
Kathryn Doby, business administrator for Optical Designs, says Country Club offers the most retail-like location and is an important step for Winston-Salem's oldest optical service outlet.
"We're achieving our mission of community outreach, but with more retail.''
The newest location of Optical Designs opened April 30 at 4610 Country Club Road. Regular hours there are Mondays to Fridays, 8 to 5 pm. For a full list of Optical Designs' sites and phone numbers, go to www.wakehealth.edu/Eye/Community-and-Outreach-Clinics.htm.
