What brought you to Wake Forest Baptist?

I chose to practice primary care in Winston-Salem because I grew up 40 miles from here in Elkin, I have family in the area, and I completed by family practice residency at Wake Forest Baptist.

What are your clinical specialties?

I have interest in diabetes and geriatrics.

Why did you decide to become a primary care doctor?

I was interested in the practice of general medical care, had been a physician assistant in primary care in rural areas and enjoyed treating a broad spectrum of problems.

What is your patient care philosophy?

I try to be a good listener and apply evidence-based-medicine.

What do you enjoy most about working with patients?

I enjoy helping patients to understand and resolve problems and helping them enjoy better health.

What type of volunteer and or community activities are you involved in?

I have volunteered at the community care center and free clinic in Yadkinville known as Hands of Hope.

What other fun facts should we know about you?

I really enjoy working outdoors and will be running a 10K Bridge Run in Charleston, SC.
