Question: What brought you to Wake Forest Baptist?

Answer: My family and I moved to Winston-Salem in June 2010. I joined Lewisville Family Physicians because of the great “small town” feel in the office. I really have enjoyed working with this team of caring health providers.

Q: What are your clinical specialties?

A: I treat all patients, from birth to death, with whatever issues they may have. My areas of special interest are pediatrics and preventive health care.

Q: What is your patient care philosophy?

A: Patient education is key to successful treatment, so I try to always make time to teach patients about their diagnosis and treatment options. I also review the course of their care and how they can best manage their health problems.

Q: What do you enjoy most about working with patients?

A: I really enjoy the “family” aspect of family medicine, the privilege of treating an entire family in one location. Not only is this convenient for the family, but it also enhances everyone’s care when the physician is familiar with all the members of the family.

Q: What type of volunteer and/or community activities are you involved in?

A: I am involved with the PTA in my children’s school.

Q: What fun facts should we know about you?

A: I have four children ages 8, 6, 5 and 2. My husband (Benjamin N. Morris, MD) is a physician in Anesthesiology and Critical Care at Wake Forest Baptist. In my free time I enjoy running, gardening and travel.

Other members of Lewisville Family Physicians include Dr. Leigh Summer, Dr. Michael Summer and Kristen Murphy, PA-C.
