Question: Can you tell us about some of your work experiences?
Answer: I was a General Medical Officer in the U.S. Navy, serving in Guam and at the Naval Ambulatory Care Center in Port Hueneme, Calif. After leaving the Navy, I worked in urgent care and occupational medical care until my husband (Dr. Michael Summer) and I started Lewisville Family Physicians.
Q: What are your clinical specialties?
A: I have a particular interest in women’s health and adolescent medicine.
Q: What is your patient care philosophy?
A: Caring for a patient takes team work, and the patient is the most important member of the team. It’s also crucial to work with patients so they believe in and act on important aspects of health maintenance and wellness activities.
Q: What do you enjoy most about working with patients?
A: I enjoy seeing patients succeed at staying healthy.
Q: What type of volunteer and/or community activities are you involved in?
A: I am involved in Boy Scouts, and help with maintenance and care of the animals at the Children’s Home farm.
Q: What fun facts should we know about you?
A: I love to play outdoors and spend time with my family.
