Wake Forest Baptist Health
Brenner Children's Hospital
Pediatrics - Westgate

What brought you to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center?

I am originally from Winston-Salem and was actually a patient at Brenner Children’s Hospital as a kid. I returned to Wake Forest for medical school after completing my undergraduate degree and stayed here for residency in pediatrics. After completing residency I stayed at Wake Forest and joined Community Physicians to begin my career in general pediatrics.

What are your clinical specialties?

I specialize in care for infants and children in the field of general pediatrics. In particular I enjoy helping mothers of infants with breastfeeding, working through challenges of infancy as well as managing allergies, asthma, and eczema.

Why did you decide to become a primary care doctor?
I decided to become a primary care doctor because I enjoy building relationships with children and their families and watching them grow and change through different stages of life. I enjoy diagnosing and treating a variety of medical conditions while building on a strong foundation with families.

What do you enjoy most about working with patients?

I enjoy building relationships and helping patients and their families through a time of illness and then see them when they are well again. I am inspired by the opportunity to help children and families through the trials and joys of infancy, childhood and adolescence.

What fun facts should we know about you?

My husband Michael is in orthopedics at Wake Forest Baptist. We have a 6-month-old son who brings much joy to our lives.
