Gamma Knife Consultations at Wake Forest Baptist

The team at Wake Forest Gamma Knife Center works to evaluate and treat all patients promptly.

We schedule in-person consultations as soon as possible for patients that request them. Or, for out-of-town patients, we can review their medical history, imaging results and lab tests at our weekly Gamma Knife team meeting before determining if they need to travel to Winston-Salem for a consultation. When possible, we schedule their Gamma Knife surgery for the day after their consultation, so they don’t need to make 2 trips.

Having Gamma Knife surgery at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center takes about 4 to 8 hours. Following surgery, patients can have their follow-up MRIs and exams here at the Medical Center or with their referring physician.
