We offer the largest group of pediatric general surgery experts in the western half of North Carolina who work through Brenner’s Children Hospital and the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Common problems in children that are resolved with pediatric surgical expertise are hernias, pyloric stenosis, soft tissue nodules, gallstones, and appendicitis.
Our pediatric surgeons are also specialists who provide care for the most complex pediatric problems. They are adept at neonatal surgery for newborns with complicated congenital anomalies or prematurity and provide this service in conjunction with their service to the areas only Level 4 neonatal Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
This team of specialists offers infants and children advanced surgical techniques including minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery. Minimally invasive surgery is used by pediatric surgical specialists to treat disorders of the appendix, spleen, gallbladder, stomach, esophagus and chest.
Our pediatric surgical specialists participate in the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) and provide surgical care for a range of benign and malignant tumors in children, including neuroblastoma, Wilms’ tumor, and hepatoblastoma.
In addition, this team cares for our most critically injured children, providing comprehensive care for trauma and burns at the region's only Level I Trauma Center.
