David F. Kiger, BS, CHS
Mr. Kiger is the General Supervisor of the HLA/Immunogenetics Laboratory at Wake Forest University Health Sciences.
Mr. Kiger received his BS in Biology and minor in Chemistry from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. He received his Certified Histocompatibility Technician (CHT) in 1991 and Certified Histocompatibility (CHS) in 1994.
His professional positions have included:
- Lab Assistant in the Department of Pharmacology at East Carolina University
- Laboratory Technician in the Histocompatibility Laboratory at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine
- Laboratory Technologist in the HLA Laboratory at Genetrix, Inc. in Scottsdale, AZ
- General Histocompatibility Supervisor of the HLA/Immunogenetics Laboratory at Wake Forest University Health Sciences
Mr. Kiger has been the General Histocompatibility since 1993. He is an active member of the American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI). He has chaired and served on several ASHI committees and is currently Secretary on the Board of Directors. He has performed multiple domestic and international ASHI inspections. He has authored and co-authored several papers, posters, and abstracts that have been presented at the World Transplant Congress, American Transplant Congress, and ASHI meetings and published in the ASHI Quarter.
