Laboratory Supervisor
David F. Kiger, BS, CHS
Mr. Kiger is the General Supervisor of the HLA/Immunogenetics Laboratory at Wake Forest University Health Sciences.
Mr. Kiger received his BS in Biology and minor in Chemistry from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. He received his Certified Histocompatibility Technician (CHT) in 1991 and Certified Histocompatibility Specialist (CHS) in 1994.
His professional positions have included:
- Lab Assistant in the Department of Pharmacology at East Carolina University
- Laboratory Technologist in the Histocompatibility Laboratory at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine
- Laboratory Technician in the HLA Laboratory at Genetrix, Inc. in Scottsdale, AZ
- General Histocompatibility Supervisor of the HLA/Immunogenetics Laboratory at Wake Forest University Health Sciences
Mr. Kiger has been the General Histocompatibility Supervisor since 1993. He is an active member of the American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI). He has served on several ASHI committees and is currently serving on the Bylaws committee. He has performed multiple ASHI inspections and has been recently named to the Accreditation Review Board (ARB). He has authored and co-authored several papers, posters and abstracts that have been presented at the American Transplant Congress, AHSI annual meetings and published in the ASHI Quarterly.
