Molecular Testing Specialist
Elaine F. O'Shields, BA, CHS
Mrs. O'Shields graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology as well as a double minor in Psychology & Sociology. Since coming to the Wake Forest University HLA/Immunogenetics lab in April of 1997, she has acquired both her Certified Histocompatibility Technologist (CHT) and her Certified Histocompatibility Specialist (CHS) accreditations from the American Society of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics.
Currently she carries the role of Molecular Testing Specialist in our laboratory. She states that although her job can be somewhat stressful at times, knowing that she is helping someone have a better quality of life not only keeps her going, but loving her work.
