Pediatric Outpatient clinical Nutritionist- Full Time Monday-Friday 40/hr a week
The pediatric dietitian works closely with the interdisciplinary team to treat children with complex medical conditions that require medical nutrition therapy such as those with tube feeding dependence, failure to thrive, multiple food allergies and feeding issues. Experience in the nutritional care and treatment of children in an acute or ambulatory setting required. Ability to communicate effectively orally, in writing and with interdisciplinary team.
Education / Experience: Baccalaureate degree in human nutrition, foods and nutrition, biological sciences or dietetics from an accredited college or university and completion of an approved route to registration by the American Dietetic Association. Previous experience as a clinical dietitian preferred. Previous experience in pediatric nutrition care required.
Licensure, Certification and / or Registration: Active registration by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics required and Licensure by NC Board of Dietetics/Nutrition. Active licensure by the NC Board of Dietetics/Nutrition is required according to policy or obtained upon employment.
1. Assessing nutritional needs of patients according to department standards.
2. Participating in interdisciplinary clinical programs to provide optimum nutrition care and improve patient outcomes.
3. Updating knowledge and skills to maintain, improve and document competency.
4. Contributing to the continuous improvement of patient outcomes and patient care services and the achievement of hospital and/or departmental goals.
5. Providing nutrition information to health care professionals, students, patients, caregivers and the community to promote optimal nutritional health and therapeutic outcomes.
6. Contributing to the achievement of department and hospital financial goals.
7. Ensuring age/developmentally appropriate patient care.
