The role of the BCH critical care transport nurse consists of several responsibilities which includes, the transport of neonates and pediatric patients from referral facilities to Brenner Children''s Hospital, education of referral hospital staff members, community support and education, as well as, providing support services within Brenner Children''s Hospital. The BCH transport nurse will provide nursing care, perform advanced practice skills as needed, and collaborate with medical control officer and other multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care to patients being transported. Follows NC Office of Emergency Medical Services (NCOEMS) guidelines.
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. BCLS required. Minimum of three years recent critical care pediatric / neonatal nursing.
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina. NRP, PALS, ENPC or TNCC, ITLS or ITLS-P, ACLS
