Our geriatrics team is actively seeking a motivated, experience advanced practice practitioner (APP) to join our interprofessional team serving the patients admitted to our new Acute Care for the Elderly unit at Davie Medical Center. This space is state-of-the-art in design to meet the needs of older adults and their families and brings the expertise of academic medicine to the Davie county community. Our APP will work collaboratively with experienced hospitalists who have additional expertise and training in care for older adults. Requirements for the position include:
- Experience working with an interprofessional team
- Collaborative, team-based approach to health care delivery
- Knowledge of and experience in managing common geriatric syndromes
- Comfort in addressing goals of care and assessing functional status of patients
- Assisting in medical management of post-operative patients in the Total Joint Orthopedics Unit at Davie Medical Center
- At least 2 years of experience preferred
- Current American Graduation from an accredited NP/PA Program
- Licensed by the NC Board of Nursing or NC Medical Board of Examiners
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Heart Assoc. BLS and ACLS
